Places To See Mussoorie

Landour: Landour is famous for an international school there name Woodstock School which also have a branch in Kodaikkanal in the Soyth India. Landour is at the height of 2270 meters above the sea level. Landour is a bazaar. The Tibetan refugees are also there in the Convent Hill and the Happy Valley where they are settled.

Camel’s Back Road: Camel Back Road is known for the Horse ridding and it is also know for its sunset view of the Himalayas. There is a natural rock sculpture which form a picture of a Camel.

Lal Tibba: Lal Tibba is the highest hill situated at an attitude of 2438mt above sea level. The view to the north and the snow covered peaks is stunning and best at sunrise.

Sir George Everest House: The George Everest House is the resident of the Sir George the surveyor General of India. And the highest peak of Himalaya is also named on his name The Mount Everest.

Jawalaji Temple: In Mussoorie there are many types of temples but the famous temple is the Jawalaji Temple which was Mata Durga's Temple. It is situated on the top of the Beong Hill. The temple is in the centre of a forest which has a natural panoramic view.

Tibetan Temple: This temple is located in the happy valley area of Mussoorie. Both Municipal garden and Tibetan temple can be seen in one day. They are located 1km from Lal Bahadur Shastri national Administrative Academy. The Tibetan temple is evidence to the rich Tibetan cultural heritage.

Cloud’s End: This a beautiful building constructed by The Britisher in the year 1838. Now a days this building is a hotel and its name is Cloud's End. The name cloud end of this building was given to this building because it appears to be like now the clouds are ended. If you want to have a great view of the valley then this building is the best to have a view of whole valley. This building is towards the west of Mussoorie. This place is famous among the newly married couples and it was also a attraction for tourists.

Municipal Gardens/Company Bagh: The Municipal Gardens was previously known as Botanical Gardens of Mussoorie. Famous geologist, Dr. H. Fackner laid these gardens in the next century.

Lake Mist: This place is suitable for those who wants to rest from the crowded areas, wants to relief. Lake Mist is on the way of Kempty Falls. The entry ticket is Rs 25.

Kempty Falls: Kempty Falls as the name tells us about the waterfall, which is situated on the Yamunotri Road. This a beautiful sight in the centre of hills. You can take a bath under the water fall which make you feel refreshed. You can visit a sanctuary too which is on the west of Kempty falls to the Yamuna Gorge, here you can enjoy watching the bird life and wildlife including leopards.
