Art and Culture Patna

Patna is blessed with culture during the last 2500 years of history because the city has very old art and traditional culture. In the city most of the people follow up the traditional ways of living. Patna also has a very famous market of handicraft items, the stone works for Gaya, Madhubani Paintings, Bangles from Muzaffarpur are the main famous art of the city. Craft works are very famous in Patna which includes Zari work, Tikuli work, Brass work, Kasida etc.

The traditionally wears of the city is sari and shalwar kameez for women whereas dhoti kurta for man. Chhath is the most important festival of the city which is also called Dala Chhath. It is celebrated in two times of the year once in the summer, which is called Chaiti Chhath and the second is celebrated after one week of Diwali which is called Kartik Chhath.

Eid, Holi, Saraswati Puja, Christmas, Makar Sankranti, Teej, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Navami, Diwali is also celebrated in the city. The cultural event of the city includes Patna Sahib Mahotsav, Patna Book Fair, Sonepur Cattle Fair and Vaishali Mahotsav.
