IIT Roorkee
It is the oldest technical institute of Asia. It was established in year 1847. The motto of the institute is “Nothing is Possible without Hard Work”. Central Building Research Institute
The Central Building Research Institute Roorkee is the part of CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) New Delhi. To promote building science in India is the aim of this institute. It is also cooperated with the building materials and constructing companies. It is imparting knowledge and research in constructing, hazards, structural and foundation, problems and disaster mitigation.
Irrigation Research Institute
It was established as an institute in 1954 after its establishment in 1928 as a small unit. Its main objective is to provide knowledge in efficient and economical hydraulic design for various engineering works and structures viz. canal works, Surge tanks, sediment excluding and effecting devices, river training and sitting of bridges and barrages.
Alternate Hydro Energy Centre
This centre was established in 1982 with the mission to explore more in the area o renewable energy resources. This institute is also assisting the projects related the conservation and management of water bodies.
