Indian Institute of Chemical Technology is a top-notch R&D Institution in India. It had its centre as the Central Laboratories for Scientific & Industrial Research (CLSIR), recognized in the mid 1940s by the then Govt of Hyderabad. The main building was officially started out by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Primary Minister of India on Jan 2, 1954. In 1956, the Main Labs came under the aegis ofCouncil of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi and was relabeled Regional Research Laboratory, Hyderabad (RRL-H).
