5G A New Era of Wireless Technology

Everybody wants speedy internet access, whether they are working on Mobile, Laptop or Tablet. The major telecom corporations today are also working on internet speed to make it faster. Day-by-day smartphones, smartwatches, laptops and computers are demanding constant internet connections.

Today 4G telecommunications have become organized to a great extent and now we are looking forward towards the development of 5G technology and its services. The placement of any wireless or cellular system takes many years and the development of 5G technology is still under examination. The new 5G technology for cellular systems will possibly start in around 2020.

In a few years, we will be able to download HD movies or videos on our mobiles, laptops and computers in a matter of few seconds. The video chats will reach new heights as it will give you the experience of reaching-out or touching the other person right through the screen. There are more than 6.4 billion internet devices in the world and it is estimated that at the end of 2020, more than 20.8 billion devices will get connected to the internet.

What is 5G?

5G stands for the fifth generation network and refer to the next or newest mobile wireless technology. This technology is based on IEEE 802. IEEE is a family of IEEE standards, which deals with metropolitan area networks and local area networks. The main feature of 5G over 4G will be its speed, as it will be much faster than the 4G networks.

Networks Development

We have seen different generations of cellular telecommunications and each one has transferred its own advancements.

First Generation Network, 1G: These were the first cellular phones to be used. These kind of networks offered very low level of security and spectrum efficiency.

Second Generation Network, 2G: These Networks presented better efficiency, security and added some new features, such as: low data rate communications and text messages.

Third Generation Network, 3G: The main motive of this technology was to deliver high speed data. The original technology allows data speed up to 14 Mbps and more.

Fourth Generation Network, 4G: Now a day the 4g network on demand and you can easily know about the 4G Connections. This technology is all-IP based technology and it is also proficient in providing data rates up to 1 Gbps.

How will this Technology work?

Typically, when a new mobile wireless technology is introduced, it needs a higher radio frequency. 4G works on the frequency bands up to 20 MHz and if we will use 5G networks, then it will require the frequency band of up to 6GHz. Speeds will be expressively faster than 4G networks. Currently, 4G LTE transfer speeds of about one gigabit per second, it means that it will take about one hour to download HD movies, but 5G will give the speed of around 10 gigabits per second, meaning you can download HD movies in few seconds.

When is 5G Technology coming?

There are a lot of companies, which are presently investing to formulate the new mobile wireless standard. It is expected that 5G will be agreed upon and implemented by 2020. If so, this technology will start to appear nearly in 2022/23 or in another two to three years to enjoy its complete access.
