AMIE is the short form of
The Institution of Engineers. This is the biggest National Organization of Engineers of India. The Institution of Engineers is the largest membership organization with more than one million members in Engineering sector and more than hundred centers in India. It was established on 13th September 1920 in Kolkata, India. It conducts many exams for its associate membership. The eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam of it is BE and B tech. The main head office of this organization is in Kolkata. This organization was founded by Sir Thomas R. J. Ward. It was further inaugurated by Lord Chelmsford in 1921.
The membership categories of AMIE are of two types one is Corporate and other is non corporate. The designations in the both category are - F.I.E, Member - M.I.E, Associate member - A.M.I.E, Graduate - Grad.I.E, Associate - A.I.E, Professional Engineer - P.Eng, Chartered Engineer - C.Eng, International Professional Engineer - Int.Peng, Technician Member - T, Senior Technician Member - ST, Institutional member and Arbitrator. The Associate member is a graduate degree in the field of engineering which is awarded by THE Institute of Engineers. Under this membership, AMIE organized many post exams online and on manual basis.
