Aarogyasri is a health initiatives program operated by the government of Andhra Pradesh. The aim of the Program is to cover those people who are below the poverty line. In Andhra Pradesh, It is mostly known as
Rajiv Aarogyasri Community Health Insurance Scheme. Government issues an Aarogyasri card for the people below the poverty line, which used to take free of cost services in government and private hospitals. This unique program was started in the year of 2007 by Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Who was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at that time. After started the program, the government created a trust named
Aarogyasri Health Care Trust. It is the flagship scheme of state government and aim to provide quality health care services to poor people. The trust is administered by a Chief Executive. The trust provides financial help for below the poverty families, up to two lakh in a year for the treatment during the hospitalized and surgery. The schemes cover more than 938 medical treatments to improve the BPL family's conditions. It provides coverage for various medical treatments such as kidney, liver, burns, pancreas, liver, heart, lung, cancer treatment, ply-trauma, cochlear implant surgery, auditory-verbal therapy, etc. The trust pays the maximum about excepting the total cost amount of cochlear implant surgery with the auditory-verbal per case. The primary health centers and network hospitals, which came under the Aarogyasri are manned by AAROGYA MITHRAS to help illiterate patients. The trust does not provide coverage for transplantation, knee replacement and hip such as AIDS, Filaris, Jaundice, Malaria, etc. The person can apply for the Aarogyasri by visiting the nearest health centers and its network hospitals. The customer help care centers of Aarogyasri provide 24*7 services for customers. By visiting Aarogyasri official website customer can get the network hospital details.
