Aavin is a well known milk producer union in Tamil Nadu. Aavin is the brand name of Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers Federation Limited. The organization was founded in the year of 1958 and its headquarters is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is wholly owned organization of Government of Tamil Nadu. Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries are the parent firms of Aavin. The dairy plants of Aavin are located in various locations in Chennai such as Ambattur, Madhavaram, Sholinganallur and Ambattur. Each production plant is well equipped with modern machinery to produce good quality of products. The company collects milk from various district unions. For milk collection, Aavin established its own collection centers in various location in Chennai. These collection centers forward milk to production plants and after the production, all milk products are forwarded to the consumers. The Aavin produces many types of milk products such as Toned milk, doubled tone milk, full cream milk standardized milk, etc. Apart from this, the company also produced various milk products such as mysorepak, gulab jamun, butter milk, lassi, ice-cream, khalakand, curd yoghurt and many others. It has more than 516 milk booths spread all over the Chennai which serves customers from morning to evening.
