Abu Dhabi Bus service was launched by Department of Transport (DoT) in the year of 2008 in the Abu Dhabi city. The Department of Transport (DoT) which is the parent company of Abu Dhabi Bus, was incorporated in the year of 2006. Department of Transport has given a great contribution for completed the various road projects and those projects are Sheikh Khalifa Interchange, Ras Ghmeis-Ghaghah Island Road and New Abu Dhabi-Dubai Main Road. Since the establishment, Abu Dhabi Bus is committed to cater all the needs and requirements of the passengers of entire United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi Bus operates approximately 700 buses over the different routes in the different cities of United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi Bus operates its transport operations based on core values efficiency, co-operation, commitment, excellence, transparency and integrity. Abu Dhabi Bus focus on the best and good transport system with less traffic. The parent company of Abu Dhabi Bus, the Department of Transport introduced a new scheme under the name of Park and Ride scheme. This Park and Ride scheme launched with the motive to reduce the traffic congestion from the cities of United Arab Emirates. Through this Park and Ride scheme, bus routes are divided into two parts one is 'Route A' and the rest is 'Route B'. Under Park and Ride scheme, passengers or driver can park their cars at a secured and safe area of Zayed Sports City (Abu Dhabi Island) and enjoy their journey without any worry of car parking. The head office of Abu Dhabi Bus is located at Abu Dhabi city and it has only one branch office which is located in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi Bus launched a Road Safety program in the year of 2009. Under this program, Abu Dhabi introduced four plans under the name of road safety awareness, road safety management, road safety audit and speed management.
