Aiwa is a consumer electronics manufacturing company, which was founded in the time of 1951 in Japan. Jon Born is the CEO of the company. It manufactures the wide range of consumer electronics products such as CD, cassette players, headphones, portable stereos, television tuners, computer modems, mini components stereo systems, DVD players, etc. Aiwa has its global presence but manufactures most of its products in South East Asian countries. After that, the company was acquired by Sony Corporation in the year of 2002. Apart from the audio products the company also has been present in another organization, made and sold various video products like as color televisions, VCRs, DVD Players, digital satellite television tuners etc. The company also has been included in the production of computer peripherals devices like as terminal adapters, modems, and speakers. In the time of 1995 Aiwa released a PHS mobile phone PT-H50 for the DDI Pocket network in Japan and in the same time an electric toothbrush, HA-C 10 was published. In the countries of Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Southeast Asian nations, Aiwa manufactured more than 89% of its output outside in Japan with heavy emphasis.
The primary logo of the organization contained AIWA in capital letters, being used until 1991. The second logo changed the textual style to a lowercase one, as Aiwa. In 2003, after the obtaining by Sony, the logo was rebranded as a major aspect of Sony's endeavors to "renew" the brand, and was being used until the brand's retirement in 2006. Since the brand's revival in 2015, the second (1991-2002) logo is back being used and all logos were colored red.
