BFPO

BFPO stands for British Forces Post Office offers the postal services. The BFPO services are delivered to Forces personnel or their dependants/authorised civilians. The BFPO gives service for the mail to be delivered throughout the UK and around the UK. The journey of postal services was started in 1808 as First Army Post Office during the war of Peninsular. Further, when the first Chinese War started, the another Army Post Office was came into existence. In the year 1889, there were two Reserve corps Egyptian and Sudanese campaigns and The Royal Engineers Telegraph Reserve which were re-organised to deliver the Telegraph and Postal services. There were Nineteen Hundred and Eight re-organisations under two reserve company which were amalgamated as RE (PS).
The business developed and offered service to Belgium, Dardanelles, Green, North Russia, France, East Africa, Italy, etc. In 1918, the mail services were started by air with the development of aircraft and the civil post offices adopted this service. Many other services were added, many re-organisations were held and finally the BFPO was established in July 1992 under title name DPCSA (Defence Postal and Courier Service Agency) while the name British Forces Post Office was relaunched on 1st of July 1999. Defence Courier Service is other department under BFPO which was released in order to give secure, efficient and discreet means. With passing the time the BFPO released many services for the convenience of the people such as:
Postal Service: British Forces Post Offices offers some postal orders which are issued in Commonwealth Country, Akrotiri and Dhekelia, etc.
e-Bluey: is shortcut way to make post to the British Armed Forces by using the INTERNET. There are only some steps to be applied these are just download, print and dispatch. This service takes less time for the post to be delivered at many locations of UK than others
Op TELIC, Op Herrick HM Ships: are the services helpful to send the letters, packets, cards with the weight of 2kg. The items are handed over physically. But parcels are not delivered however the small boxes are used to be sent under the weight of 2 Kg.
Forces Free Air Letters: Under this service the letter are posted in free of cost. The Forces Free Air Letters is also known as FFALS and Blueys.
