Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is a leading company which provides health insurance plans and self-financing services to Indian employees. It is also known as
ESIC. In Independent India, the government passed an act for the workers' social security and that act was Employees' State Insurance Act, passed in 1948. The employee whose income is under 15000 Rupees per month can take advantage of this. According to the rules, this fund is handled by the Employees’ State Insurance. The ESI plan was commenced on February 24 1952 in Kanpur city. It was begun on ESIC day by the
Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. The main office of this scheme is located in Delhi, India.
