Impact Of COVID 19 On Travel Industry In India

COVID-19 has impacted all the industries and businesses badly. If we talk about travel tourism industry in India then it will not be wrong to say that COVID- 19 has impacted travel industry. Whether it is about travelling abroad or within India both the situation are really difficult. When person is not allowed to go out of his own house then travelling should not even think of.

Travel industry must have faced a very bad phase majorly because of sudden lockdown because due to lockdown people have cancelled their tickets and booking with very high rate. After lockdown this graph has shown a decline but that is too low to be compared with the loss which it has done to this industry. People all around the world are facing bad impacts of covid 19. In the form of lockdown, no jobs, some are even lost their jobs and much more. Businesses are shattered and come to the position of shutting. Many lives are destroyed because of this COVID-19.

Some Major Impact Of COVID-19 On Travel Industry In India

1. Drop In Bookings
Since covid 19 is declared deadly and incurable many people who were planning to go abroad or any other place have cancelled their booking. Cancellations in booking have given a very sharp decline to the travel industry. It is also very difficult for travel companies to pay salaries to their employees. Travel companies are not able to make revenues for their company and for themselves. People are afraid to go to any other city or place because of corona and if travelling is not allowed then you can clearly see how this will impact the travel industry.

2. Hard To Make Clients
Earlier during this time of year travel industries are the one who were mostly busy because of vacations. But now this is all silent and calm because of covid 19. Companies have to give different attractive offers to their clients and customers. Before corona when customers use to call the travel agents for making booking but now employees have to call to make their customers understood and to convince them for bookings. Even the customers who have made booking for Diwali and Christmas, they are also cancelling their tickets. It clearly shows that travel industry is seriously going through a very bad phase.

3. Bearing Unreasonable Loss
In order to attract customers travel companies are offering many offers and vouchers to the travelers so that they do not lose their customers. These offers and benefits to customers are really costing high to the companies. Hotels, airlines all are trying to do something to hold on to their clients and customers. This really was the time for travel companies to make profit but instead they are losing even more. Unless there is any proven cure against covid-19 is found the situation will remain like this.

4. Affecting Other Travelling Services
As nation is in the situation of complete lockdown so flight and train services are totally shut. This has made things difficult for people who are living in other cities or countries. They cannot come to their home during this tough time. This situation is really difficult not just for travel companies but also for the common people who cannot go to their family. Covid 19 has really changed and impacted life of everyone.

5. Post Lockdown Sudden Increase In Booking
After lockdown people are eager to go to their hometown or to their countries and there is a sudden increase of booking during that time. This sudden urge of people and increase in ticket bookings have made travel company executives and associates extreme busy and exhausted. Demand of tickets are high but number of trains and airlines are limited.

6. Change In Policies
Keeping the bad impact of corona in mind government has made some changes in the travel and tourism transportation policies. In trains and flights for both the mediums there are certain change in policies which all travel companies have to follow. There will be limited number of passengers in the flight so that the adequate distance can be maintained between the passengers. There will be no serving of meals and other beverages for the passengers neither on the flights nor in the trains. So, obviously this covid 19 has changed a lot of things around and everyone has to deal according to the situation.
