KVPY 2019 Registration, Exam Dates, Pattern, Syllabus, and Cutoff

KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) is a national-level scholarship/partnership program led to advance and urge profoundly brilliant students to select research professions in basic science courses. It is started and financed by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India. Students who qualify Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, known as the KVPY colleagues, get a month to month grant up to pre Ph. D. level. The KVPY test is administered by the IISC (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore. Applicants who qualify the aptitude round are called for a personal interview. Around 2500 out of one lakh hopefuls are granted KVPY fellowship.

KVPY Fellowship Program
A KVPY individual is qualified to get the month to month stipend pre Ph.D. level or 5 years, whichever is the priority, given that he keeps up the base grade consistently.

1. From the second year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat/Integrated M.Sc./Integrated M.S. program, KVPY colleagues must partake and perform adequately in the summer program in an academic Institution of National or International notoriety or a DSIR (The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research ) affirmed research labs. This is obligatory for the continuation of fellowship.

2. KVPY colleagues issue an identity card which awards them access to national universities and research laboratory that have consented to expand exceptional benefits like lab facilities, libraries, and so on.

For the year 2019, KVPY test is scheduled to be organized on 3 November 2019. The enlistments for KVPY 2019 have begun from 08 July 2019.

The qualification criteria are diverse for each post, candidates must fulfill the total qualification to apply for the program.

Intrigued and qualified candidates can submit their applications on the official site till 20 August 2019. The application charge for the examination is INR 1000 for the general/OBC category students and INR 500 for the SC/ST/PWD students.

The test will be conducted in a PC based mode.

KVPY 2019 result will be declared in the first week of December month.

The selection of applicants is done through aptitude test and Interview round.

Eligibility Criteria for KVPY Exam
There are three streams for which the KVPY exam is conducted- SA, SX, and SB. The qualification criteria for KVPY test 2019 for these streams are referenced beneath;

1. SA
Applicants must be studying science stream in 11th class. An applicant must have a minimum score of 75% in Science and Math subjects in class 10th board exams. For the SC, ST, and PWD category, the minimum score required is 65%.

2. SX
Candidates must examination science stream in class 12th. A competitor must score at least 75% in Math and Science subjects in class tenth board tests. For SC, ST, and PWD, the base required marks are 65%. To profit the scholarship, the competitor must score at least 60% in Math and Science subjects in class twelfth board exams to take the partnership. For SC, ST, and PWD, the base required marks are 50%.

3. SB
Candidates must examination in their first year of Bachelor certificate in any of the Basic Science courses. An applicant must score at least 60% in Math and Science subjects in class twelfth board tests. For SC, ST, and PWD, the minimum marks are 50%. To profit the grant, the competitor must score at least 60% in the first year of his undergraduate course to take up the cooperation. 50% marks are required for SC, ST, and PWD category.

The subjects included under Basic Sciences incorporate B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Integrated M.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Materials Science and Environmental Science.

Exam Pattern of KVPY Exam
KVPY exam is conducted in two rounds - Aptitude Test and Personal Interview. While the aptitude round checks an applicant's knowledge crosswise over different subjects, the personal interview will test the learning of science and research related themes.

1. Exam Mode
KVPY is basically a PC based test (CBT). Thus, you can just take it in the online mode.

2. Question Type
Questions are of numerous decision type (MCQs). Each question has an equivalent weightage of marks.

3. Test Duration
Applicants are given 3 hours to finish the paper.

4. Language for Examination Paper
A candidate has the alternative to take the paper in English or in Hindi.

5. Marking Scheme
The question paper is partitioned in two sections. In part 1 of the test, applicants are granted +1 and - ¼ for right and incorrect answers individually. For section 2, applicants are granted +2 and - ½ for right and incorrect answers respectively.
