According to the legend, it is said that there was a ruler named Hima, his son was cursed that he would die on the 4th day of marriage. The princess, who was in love with the king's son, came to know that he got married, however on the 4th day she requested her husband to stay awake. The husband couldn't sleep so she continued telling him stories and songs the entire night. She put utensils and lots of gold and silver jewellery at the entryway of the house. Burns lots of Diyas. At the point when Yamraj came to take the life of a king's son as a snake, he was blinded by such glare. The snake couldn't enter into the house and sat on the jewellery and listened to the song and story. It was morning and the prince's death ended. Yamraj had to return without ending his life.
