Pan Africa Insurance Holdings Limited is a Kenya-based well-known insurance, investment and retirement company. It is a non-government group which was started on 26 October 1946. The headquarters of the company is situated in Nairobi of Kenya with the presence of subsidiaries and branches throughout Kenya. Pan Africa Insurance has a membership of the Sanlam Group. The listing of the Sanlam could be traced on South African JSE as leading financial services group. The Sanlam group is active in Europe, India, the USA, Australia, Africa, and South East Asia. The subsidiaries of the Pan Africa Insurance Holdings Limited includes Pan Africa Life Assurance Limited, PA Securities Limited, Sanlam Investment Management (Kenya) Limited, Mae Properties Limited, Chem Chemi Mineral Water Limited and Runda Water Limited.
The inception of Pan Africa Insurance Holdings Limited was started with Indo-Africa Insurance Company Limited in October 1946. The company interested in life insurance section in 1947. At that time, Pan Africa Insurance was the first insurance company which registered on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. In order of direct reflection of the company, Indo-Africa Insurance Company Limited changed to Pan Africa Insurance Company in 1963. To bring dynamic mode in business, Pan Africa Insurance Company Limited and African Life Assurance of South Africa came together in 2000. In 2002, the company was redesigned into two sections including Pan Africa Life Assurance Limited and Pan Africa General Insurance Limited. The Pan Africa Life Assurance Limited was made with the purpose to handle the long term and life Insurance duties while other one taking care of short term general insurance. Through same year company changed the name to Pan Africa Insurance Holdings Limited to be a holding company of two subsidiaries.
