Beautiful and shining hair with flawless skin is what everyone wants to have. Use of different cosmetics will not help you get healthy hair and skin; rather it will make them worse. It is better to follow simple hair and skin care regime to make them beautiful.

Your genes and your family history are the most important factors that decide the quality of your skin and hair.

Unhealthy eating habits too have their adverse affects on your hair and skin. If you keep your eating habits simple and drink lots of water, you will never complain against hair and skin problem.

Always use detergent free face wash for your skin. Use face wash only twice a day, as it will make your skin look dull. It is better to keep splashing water on face after every one hour. This way you will not lose natural oil from your skin.

Always use an appropriate cleanser to clean make up from your skin. Do not directly wash your face with a face wash to remove make up.

Sunscreens protect your skin from getting tanned, believe me from my own personal experience sunscreens do not help at all, rather they make your skin texture worse. It is better to cover your face with a cotton duppatta or use a cap instead.

Make up products like foundations, mineral powders and compacts do not have adequate sun protection. All these products have chemicals, which can affect your skin in long run.

Indian skin tends to get tanned and pigmented easily. It is advisable to see a dermatologist if your tan doesn’t go in four to six weeks.

Prefer herbal creams for your skin which consists ingredients like Arbutin, Licorice, Mulberry, Ginseng, Gingko, Emblica, Turmeric- curcuma, Grapeseed and vitamins like A and C.

Aging can be intrinsic, i.e. genetic, and can be delayed by exercise and through a healthy diet. Extrinsic factors include increased UV intensity, increased pollution as well as stress. All these factors tend to dry the skin and make it more prone to pigmentation and aging.

For a healthy skin, always wash your face before going to bed and apply a good moisturiser with an age-protecting agent that suits your skin type.

For younger skin types, look for creams which have antioxidants like vitamin C, E or whole range of botanicals like green tea, grapeseed or pomegranate extract etc.

For hair, keep your scalp clean and free from oil and sweat. Always use a conditioner after you shampoo your hair. It protects your hair follicles to get dry and lifeless.

Massage your scalp with hot oil once a week and wash off with mild shampoo and condition thereafter. This will keep your hair strong and glowing.

You can also apply curd and egg white on your hair. This will give your hair natural shine and keep them problem free.

Do not shampoo your hair every day, this will reduce natural oil and shine from your hair. Wash your hair four times a week during summers and for winters keep it limited to twice only, as winters are known for their dryness features which can actually turn your hair dry and lifeless.
