Sri Lanka Suicide Bombings Targeting Christians Kill Hundreds

A series of blasts have shaken Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday. Something like 290 individuals has been killed and 500 wounded in a progression of blasts focusing on churches holding Easter administrations and inns in Sri Lanka. The vast majority of the dead are accepted to be Sri Lankans, yet authority’s say around 30 individuals from different countries have been killed. Three UK nationals and two US-UK double nationals were among the dead. Two Turkish nationals, one Dutch, one Chinese, one Portuguese, and one Japanese have been killed, their respective foreign ministries have affirmed. Nobody has asserted duty regarding the assaults yet Sri Lanka's defence minister, Ruwan Wijewardene, said the offenders had been distinguished and were religious extremists. He said suicide planes were in charge of most of the morning's bombings and that the influx of assaults was the work of a solitary group. The PM Ranil Wickremesinghe said security administrations had been "aware of information" of a possible assault as long as 10 days back. He also said, we should likewise investigate why satisfactory precautionary measures were not taken," he told correspondents on Sunday.
