Faridabad is considered as the economic zone of Haryana. It was established by Sheikh Farid in 1607. Today Faridabad is an industrial city and population centre of Haryana state as this district only generates 50% of income tax to the state government.

Faridabad was mainly a Buddhist city; there are many temples to visit. These are Shiva temple, Godavari temple, Akshardham temple and Lotus Temple.
