Places to Visit Gondia

Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary:

The Nagzira Wild Life Sanctuary is the place to be when you want to enjoy a reunion with nature and wildlife locked in the arms of nature and adorned with a picturesque landscape, luxuriant vegetation and serves as a living outdoor museum to explore and appreciate nature. The sanctuary has a number of fish, 34 species of mammals, 166 species of birds, 36 species of reptiles and four species of amphibians. The invertebrate fauna includes, besides a number of insects and ant species, several species of butterflies. Nearly 30,000 tourists visits this sanctuary annually. Wild animals to spot are the tiger, panther, bison, sambar, nilgai, chital, wild boar, sloth bear and wild dog.

Darekasa:

There is the blend of some interesting caves, partly natural and party artificial, in the Chandsuraj hills near here. At a little distance from Darekasa, there is a waterfall forming into a fine pool known as Ramidoh with some charming scenery.

Itiadoh Dam:
Itiadoh Dam is located about 85 km from Gondiya, in Maharashtra. It is the main source of water for paddy irrigation not only in Gondiya District, but also in Bhandara and Gadchiroli districts. Itiadoh Dam is also renowned for Katla fish and Prawn culture. The Norgying Tibetan settlement, with the Tibetian carpet weaving centre is located nearby.

Navegaon National Park

It is said to have been built by one Kolu Patel Koli at the beginning of the eighteenth century. Nature here is wreathed in smiles, with the peerless Navegaon Lake spreading its silvery mirror neath the mountains over an expanse of 11 sq. km. It has greate importance from nature conservation point of view. It is indeed nature priceless assets and beckons one and all to enjoy its picturesque landscape, its pure and fresh air. It has got immense potentials from biodiversity conservation point of view.

Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara:
The gurudwara was established in the year of 1932 and managed by a trust Pradhan who is elected every year. At the time of its construction it was the only Gurudwara present around Gondia. This Gurudwara also serves a social hall for marriages and other programs at a negligible charge for the members of their community.
