The development took place in Mohali in 80s and 90s though it was conceived after the trifurcation of
Punjab state and designation of its capital Chandigarh as UT in 1966. In starting, the original plan was
only confined to the extension of roads till then and only Phase 7 was developed. It was during 80s and
90s that other phases and sectors saw the light of development which was started from Phase 08. In
1990s first bus stand was started at Phase 08.
