Overview Panna

Panna city is situated in the north-eastern part of the Madhya Pradesh. It is also called “the city of diamonds”. The most punctual reference of Panna region is found in religious legends like Ramayana and Indian Puranas. As specified in the Vishnu and Bhavishya Purana the old name of Panna locale was Padmawati-Puri, however in Valmiki Ramayana, it was specified as Kilkila-Khand by Sugreev, while in Shrimad Bhagwat the city was titled as Kilkila Pradesh. The city is also the administrative center of the Panna district.
