Rajpura is well connected by road. Both National Highways, NH-1 which
stretches from Kolkata to Amritsar and NH-64 pass through this city. It is
enveloped by developed cities on all sides. Chandigarh which is the capital of
Punjab is about 38km North of Rajpura Patiala is located 20 km South of
Rajpura.
Ambala is 20 km to its East Ludhiana is located 80km West of Rajpura. Its
location is central to Amritsar and Delhi. The distance between Delhi and
Rajpura is 225 km. Similarly distance between Amritsar and Rajpura is 225 km.
But both Amritsar and Delhi are located in opposite directions from Rajpura on
the NH-1.
In Railway network, the first junction in Punjab is also Rajpura. For this reason
Rajpura is called the GATEWAY OF INDIA.
The nearest International Airport is located at Amritsar and the nearest domestic
airport is located at Chandigarh.
