Sagar is an extremely beautiful city, located on the spur of Vindhya Range in Madhya Pradesh. The city was originally known as Saugor, which is comprised of two words: Sau and gor, where sau means 100 (Hundred) and gor means fort. The city is an imperative trading destination for numerous agricultural products. Oil mill, flour mill, ghee processing, handloom weaving and engineering works are the chief industries operating in Sagar. This city has also been nominated as one of the hundred Indian cities to be evolved as smart city according to PM Narendra Modi's flagship Smart Cities Mission.
