Introduction to Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram is the capital city of Kerala and it is also known as Trivandrum. It is the largest and the most populated City in Kerala. The city is on the west bank of India and it is surrounded by Western Ghats to its east and Laccadive Sea to its west. Thiruvananthapuram name is the combination of three words “Thiru-anantha-puram”, which means the town of Lord Anantha.

This place is considered holy, because on 13 Vishnu temples. Before the independence, Thiruvananthapuram was the capital of Travancore. It is also called as “Evergreen city of India” placed by Mahatma Gandhi. Thiruvananthapuram is one of the oldest cities in India and being an administrative and capital city, it is one of the blazing political centers in Kerala.
