Hero Cycle Limited is started in 1956 by the Munjal brothers in Ludhiana. The Company was initially started in 1944 to manufacture the spare parts of bicycles in Amritsar. The Company becomes the largest bicycle manufacturers in the country in 1975 and in 1986 the company makes its entry in Guinness Books of World Records by producing the most number of bicycles in the world. The Company also makes partnership with Honda Motors of Japan in 1984 to provide the Hero Honda motor cycles in India.
