Belagavi gives a picture of an excellent combination of Kannada and Marathi culture. All the festivals in the city are celebrated in a traditional way. In rural parts of Belagavi, men wear turban with long tailpiece in the rear, while women folk wear sari where the lower half of it is worn like a dhoti. People in the urban part of the city have modified their lifestyle with time and have adopted themselves to fashionable dressing and living styles.
