The very sound of the name Akshardham proposes great meaning to the plenary nomenclature. This fusion of pink stone and pure white marble is built without steel and has 234 ornately carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadra angled shikhars. he spectacular Gajendra Pith (plinth of stone elephants) and 20,000 murtis and statues of India’s great sadhus, devotees, acharyas and divine personalities will make you gaze forever. The intricate curvatures on the roof have the power to mesmerize any roaming sight. The most famous thing here is the three paid audio visual shows, the presentation of these shows are fabulous. The show gives you the experience that you are travelling through time machine.

Calling Akhshardham Temple a religious place would be a misnomer if you only consider the fanatic lawns, boat rides, musical fountains and the animatronics show. You can only take home the longing views of this superbly crafted monument. Akshardham was established as per the wish of Guru Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj, who was known as the fourth successor in the spiritual hierarchy of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and this was established by the HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Akshardham was created in a short time period of 5 Years by Swaminarayan Akshardham with the help of 11,000 Volunteers, sadhus and artisians by their hard work and prayers of thousands young and old devotees of BAPS Akshardham was established. You're not allowed to take in cameras, video cameras, mobile phones or any electronic items. Forget about the crackers and juice boxes too, as no outside food is allowed inside. But don't you worry, the kids certainly won't go hungry, as the food court inside serves vegetarian snacks.
