History Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad holds historical significance, it was founded by Ghazi ud din in 1740 A.D. It was named Ghaziuddinnagar after its founder's name and then it later changed to Ghaziabad. Many excavations and research work throw lights on its historical and mythological importance as well.

Ghaziabad witnessed a fierce war when Taimur invaded the Fort of Ghaziabad. It was one of the centers where 1857 revolt broke out. Ghaziabad was the part of Meerut District till 14th November 1976 and was designated as district by then Chief Minister Mr ND Tiwari. Ghaziabad is now making rapid progress in the field of industries which has made it into the large industrial city.
