Karur is an oldest town which is formally known for its chola empires and traditional chera. There are number of sculpted temples in the town. This festival is celebrated each year at Kalayana Pasupathieswarer temple and the motive behind these classical dance forms, is to spread awareness about the traditional culture of the city.
