Geography and Climate Kullu

The main attraction of this hill station is its awe-inspiring splendor. Kullu is 80 km in length and situated on the bank of beas river near manali. It is 240 km from shimla with the backdrops of the himalaya, pir panjal and the great himalayan range. The place has three seasons in a year. Every season has its charm here. Every season gives it a beauty in its own entirety. The climate here is very pleasant and calm. Summer is suitable for visiting kullu. In Summers the temperature reaches up to 33.8 C. The minimum temperature is about 14 C.

Winters are the season of extreme cold. There is heavy rainfall in december to february. Kullu average rain fall is 80 cm. Temperature reaches to the freezing point. The temperature ranges in between max. 16 C to Min 2 C. Most of the parts of the kullu remain under cover of snow during this period. The weather over here becomes chilly, during rains. That is the time when the valley of kullu looks its most beautiful.
