Places To See Lucknow

Lucknow is the city of historical monuments that are the witness of many events took place in the past. Besides them Lucknow is the home of many well maintained parks that are attractive. People throng to these park on weekends. Ambedkar Memorial and Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar, Swarn Jayanti Park and Aurobindo Park in Indiranagar, Dilkusha Park, Begum Hazrat Mahal Park, Globe Park, Mukherjee Phuhaar, Haathi Park, Buddha Park, and Neebu Park are the eminent parks. National Botanical Garden at Sikandarbagh on the banks of Gomti River is also center of attraction among the visitors.

Bada Imambara Nawab of Oudh Asaf Ud Daula built Imambara in 1784 as it was a part of a relief project for a major famine that broke out in 1784 A.D.

British Residency It is famous historical structure which is now reduced to ruins. Archaeological Survey of India declared to protect it.

Chattar Manzil It is most unique structure built by the Nawabs of Lucknow. It is famous tourist spot.

Jama Masjid Sultan Ahmed Shah constructed Jama Masjid in Lucknow. Built with yellow sandstone with the fabulous design and architecture. Rumi Darwaza It is one of most splendid example of architectural structures in India. Nawab Asaf-ud-daula constructed this in 1784 A.D.

The Clock Tower It was built in 1881 by the British in European Style on river Gomti, this 67 meters high towers is situated near Rumi Darwaza. It is said to be the tallest clock tower in India

Christ Church It was built in the memories of those who died in mutiny of 1857. It was designed by General Hutchinson and renovated in 1904 A.D. Memorial Tabels and brass collections are the main attraction in it.
