Population: The population of Manali is 17,786 according to 2011 census.
Art and culture of Manali is truly endemic and shows the traditions of the valley. People are deeply

Charasay-Tarasay:
It is the legendary among folk dancers of Manali also known as the Birshu-Nirshu. Commonly it is
performed by the married women.
The Bandhu or Ghost Dance:
It is another popular dance of Manali. It is presented by the male members to save their area from bad
soul. Due to its unusual ways of performing, women are forbidden to see it.
