Places to Visit Manali

Manali calls you to explore its scenic beauty. Natural beauty is scattered in every direction. Catch the spectacular view of the flow of the Beas river, wooden slopes and the beautiful snow covered mountains. Many tourists throng to this magnificent valley every year be it festivals or landscapes. It is also surrounded by the places of great tourist interest such as Solang Valley, Marhi, Vashisht, Rohtang Pass, Kothi, Nehru Kund, Club House, Rohla Falls.

Hadimba or Hidimba Temple
The temple is dedicated to the Hidimba , the wife of Bhima one of the five Pandavas. The architecture is simple yet attractive of this temple built by Raja Bahadur Singh of Kullu. The wood carving of the temple is praiseworthy. This temple is locally known as the Doongri mata temple
.
Vashishtha Baths
The hot water spring of Vashishtha is believed to cure several diseases by its medicinal properties. It is situated in the village Vashista  3 km away from the Manali.
 
Tibetan Monastery
The architecture of this monastery attracts large numbers of tourists. It is also famous for its carpet weaving unit.

Arjun Gufa
According to the myth Arjuna performed hard meditation here to attain Pashupati Shastra. It is the legendary cave near the village of Prini.

Nehru Kund
It is calm and peaceful place to visit which is located on the Manali-Keylong road at a distance of 6 km from Manali town. This place offers a spectacle view of the clean water spring.

Dashir Lake
It is located at an altitude of 4,270 meters above sea level, the lake is positioned near the Rohtang Pass. This splendid lake has a depth of 3 to 4 m. The water of the lake is said to have a medicinal powers to cure the all ailment of the body.

Suraj Tal Lake

This lake is situated at an altitude of 4980 meters above mean sea level and lies below the summit of the Barachala Pass in the Lahaul division of district Lahaul and Spiti. The Barachala connects Manali and Lahaul to Ladakh. The name Baralacha means 'Pass with cross roads on summit' (Roads from Ladakh, Spiti and Lahaul join on the top of it). There is no road yet from Spiti, only a path exists. This pass is also an origin of Chandra, Bhaga and Yamuna rivers. And the lake which draws a considerable number of visitors - especially in summer - lies by its head. This is the source of the river Bhaga. There is a good trek to it by Zingzing bar.

Bhrigu Lake
This lies east of the Rohtang Pass and is about 6 km from the village of Gulaba. The lake is situated at an altitude of 4,235 meters above sea level. Its depth is about 3 to 4 m and and it remains under snow for the whole winter. It is held sacred to Rishi Bhrigu. Being sacred this lake is visited by the people of Kullu, Mandi and Lahaul valley. It also lie on several trek routes of the region.

Rehalla  Falls
It is located at the distance of 16 km from Manali. This water fall is originated from melting glaciers and water spilling from the rocks.  One can experience the fascinating beauty of the scenery around there. It is also a famous picnic spot.

Rohtang Pass
It is at an altitude of 3,978 metres on the highway to Keylong and 51 kms from Manali .Once it was the route of trade Rohtang pass is the gateway to the districts of Lahaul and Spiti. It is open from June to November each year. It is surrounded by the magnificent view of  nature.
It is surrounded by Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan.  Beas Kund is nearby from Rohtang pass.

Marhi
This beauty of this place is on its peak during summer and autumn season. It is beautiful place surrounded by lush green meadows.
