The average temperature during summer is between 14 °C and 20 °C and between -7 °C and 10 °C in winter. Monthly precipitation varies between 24 mm in November to 415 mm in July. It is typically around 45 mm per month during winter and spring and around 115 mm in June as the monsoon approaches.

Shimla can be visited in any season, summer or winter as it has ideal climate in both the seasons. It is aptly said that Shimla is the destination of all seasons. Irrespective of time of the year, Shimla beckons you with its unending charms and with open arms. But still, it is prudent to avoid the monsoon months, from mid-July to mid-September, when the rains make the roads slippery.
