History Visakhapatnam

As per the history, Vishakhapatnam was named on the God of Valor – Vishakha. There is another story behind Vishakhapatnam was that the beautiful nature of Vishakhapatnam was compared to the beauty of Radha and Visakha. The history told us that the Radha and Visakha was born on the same day and they both are beautiful. According to the citizens an Andhra King was fall in love by seeing their beauty and he built a temple in the respect of their family.

Vishakhapatnam was also been a part of Kalinga Kingdom which was ruled by the great Ashoka in 260 B.C. As the time passes later on Vishakhapatnam was ruled by the Andhra kings of Vengi. Afterwards Vishakhapatnam ruled by the Pallava's, Chola's and Ganga Dynasties, in the last it was came under the Vijaynagar Empire. In the 17th century many countries established thereselves by making Vishakhapatnam the major center of exporting Textiles, Ivory, Tobacco, Indigo etc. This port exist his own place in the history of India. Vishakhapatnam had his major role when it was governed by Asaf Jahis and The Golcondas.
