PINJORE GARDENS The Pinjore Gardens are one of a kind. Lying 22Kms North of Chandigarh, these were designed by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s foster brother Fidai Khan, in the 17th century. The area surrounding Chandigarh is as beautiful as it is interesting. Leaving the town behind, drive down to the hill reserve near village Kansal. Here tourists are allowed a restricted entry by permit. Permits to enter the forest are issued by Deputy Conservator of Forest Chandigarh. A short distance from Kansal forest is located another reserve forest known as Nepli. Nepli is a bit wilder than Kansal. On two sides it is surrounded by small hills and the whole area is covered by thick forest which is full of wild life.
The greatest thrill of visiting this park is being able to stay right within it at the rest house.
