PCS stands for Provincial Civil Services. The state level exam PCS is a civil based administrative service in which candidates are selected for serving the state government. The policy of the state is made by these officers or maintained by them. An entrance exam is conducted every year for the selection of the officers. This exam is conducted by the Public Service Commission, a state level exam conducting a team of the officers. The exam pattern of PCS examination is similar to the civil services in which Preliminary Test is the first step after which Mains paper is conducted followed by Personal Interview round. CSAT paper can be involved or not in the State Civil Services Examination. In some states, regional Language paper or the statistics paper is compulsory.
