Overview Agartala

Agartala is the capital of the Indian state of Tripura and also the second biggest city of north east India after Guwahati. The city is situated on the Haroa River. The name of the city derived from the two words agar and tala, where agar stands for a kind of oily valuable perfume tree and tala means the store of house. The city is one of the fastest developing cities of India. Agartala is also the India’s third international gateway after Chennai and Mumbai.
