Geography and Climate Goa

Major part of Goa is coastal land known as Konkan that separates it from the Western Ghat. It is located North to Maharastra while Karnatka lies in it’s South. Mandovi, Zuari, Terekhol, Chapora and the Betul are the main rivers of Goa. The Mormugao harbour in the river Zuari is one of the best natural harbours in South Asia.

The Zuari and the Mandovi are the vital rivers of region as they cover wide area and the backbone of agrarian economy of Goa. The soil of Goa is fertile and rich in minerals. Goa is tropical zone and its location near Arabian Sea make its temperature hot and humid. May is the hottest month of the year with the temperature of 35°C consists of high humidity rate.

Monsoon arrives in june and last till September. Monsoon brings rainfall  which is relief in hot and humidity. October to March is the ideal for visiting.
