Places to Visit Goa

Goa is known for it’s beautiful beaches, places of worships and awe inspiring architecture.You might have seen some locations of Goa in films. Calangute

It is the prominent among the beaches of Goa. It is popular for many sea activities besides the usual beach activities of sunbathing and swimming in the sea. It is also used for the water sports such as parasailing, water-skiing, wind surfing and other water sports. On the Calangute Beach, the night is hot and happening in the pool and the night clubs.

Baga Beach
It is peaceful and less crowded beach. It is rocky in nature and extension of Calangute. Similar to Calangute wild parties and water sports are also organized here.

Anjuna Beach
This charming beach is Very well known for its Full Moon beach parties and Wednesday flea markets. It is the place of wildest of rave parties organized in Goa which attract foreign visitors especially.

Dona Paula
If you want to visit something which contains myth and romance then this beach is for you. It presents a beautiful view of Margaon harbour.

Colva Beach 
It gains popularity because of its facilities given to the tourists and wild parties.

Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
It is the famous bird sanctuary in India. It is the Habitat of 400 birds  species. Kingfishers, Pintails, Coots and Egrets as well as few crocodiles, jackals and foxesare the main attraction here. To visit this sanctuary, it is advisable to seek permission of Chief Wild Life Warden of Forest Department of Panaji. Ferry service is available from Ribandar dock to Chorao Island.

Alorna fort
It is  situated in the Allorna village which is about 30 km from Mapusa and 10 km east off NH 17 from Malpem in Pernem. It was built by the Bhonsles of Sawantwadi in the 17th century.

Panaji
It is the among the beautiful cities of India. Most of the beautiful monuments is the feather to it’s cap.

Old Goa or Vehla
The glimpse of Portuguese empire resides in it’s architecture. It was the former capital of Goa and now the world heritage declared by UNESCO. See cathedral and Chapel of St Xavier are the notable places to visit. Churches of our lady is another famous church of the state.

Basilica of Bom Jesus
It is considered world heritage site. This church contains the remains of St. Francis Xavier. It is located in Old Goa.

Ponda
It is the capital of Ponda Taluka in the North Goa district. It is termed “cultural capital” and Hindu heart of Goa as well. Hindu temples and the largest mosque is the pride of this region.

Dudh sagar
This place is famous for picnic spots and waterfalls.

Goa State Museum
The museum displays antiques like Copper plate inscription of Kadamba Kings, wooden statues of Christian saints, stone and bronze sculpture, terracotta objects of Indus valley civilization, contemporary art, Furniture used by the Portuguese governor, a massive 18th century wooden chariot from the Chandreshwar Temple and the Mughal paintings.

Other Attractions
Budbudyanchi Tali lake, Cabo De Rama, Cabo Raj Bhavan or Governors Palace, Calizz, Carambolim Lake, Chapoli Dam, Chapora Fort, Chorao Island.
