Rohtak is the district located in Haryana. This Heart City of Haryana is located 70 km North-West of the national capital New Delhi and 210 km south of the state capital Chandigarh, at the National Highway 10. It is the one of the developed cities of Haryana.
It derives its name from Rohtashgarh which consisits two ruin towns near the present city, Rohtak.
Rohtak is best known for its educational institutions which include the top Management school of India, IIM, Mahrishi Dayanand University and Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. Thus it is considered as the educational hub of North India. Emerging as the industrial town of Haryana, many new projects are being executed here such as Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Film city and Industrial Model Township.
