Vijayawada Climate
Vijayawada climate is a tropical with monsoon season and hot summer season. From May to June, the temperature runs 47 °C and during the winter season it falls below to the 15 °C. On an average of annual rainfall remain 106.7 centimeter and humidity remains 78 per cent. Northeast monsoon and Southwest monsoon both includes to rainfall in Vijayawada with both humid and hot conditions.
Vijayawada Geography
Vijayawada is situated in the center of hills and rivers. As the city is located on the bank of river so at its west and east side river can be seen, on the north side the Budameru River can be seen. On the side of northern, southwestern and northwestern low range of hills are located. And the center of northwestern and southwestern is covered with agriculture land as well as with three canals. The land is fertile agriculture land and the three canals are helpful for irrigation. There are some medium sized and small hill can be found at the flat topography of Vijayawada.
Vijayawada Economy
As per the economy, the agriculture, industrial sector, tourism, tertiary sectors, commercial trade help to increase the GDP of the city. Because of the fertile agriculture land and irrigation water facilities, the farms and plantations are there. Vijayawada is listed as one of the largest cities which are exporters of mangoes and the other crops which are mostly found in the Vijayawada are sugarcane and rice. As per the agriculture growth, many industries based on agriculture can be found at Vijayawada such as textile, consumer goods, small industries, fertilizers, etc. The agro commodities like turmeric, mangoes, cotton, tobacco as well as oil, rice and dal mills ad solvent extract plants are there around the city. Heavy and automobile industries include the Jawahar Lal Nehru Auto Nagar Estate and Kondapalli is spread in 450 acres which contains the approximately 800 industries. The Vijaywada Thermal Power Stations is known as one of the power plant that is based on coal and contains the capacity of 1 unit of 500 MW and 1760 MW with 6 units of 210 MW. The Gas based plant of Vijayawada is Lanco Kondapalli Power Limited. The technology demonstration project plan name is Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited that is in agreement with APGENCO.
Vijayawada Administration
On 1st of April 1888, the Municipal Corporation of Vijayawada was constituted while was upgraded as a corporation in the year 1981. There are about 59 political wards in which the city is divided. The area corporator represents each ward. Andhra Pradesh provides its own police commissionerate to the Vijayawada. Vijayawada Municipal Corporation provides all the utilities like water, waste collection, and drainage services. Andhra Pradesh Fire Services Department offers the five fire stations which operated the operation in the city.
