Bharat Gas is a product of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). BPCL is one of the India's largest oil and gas company, headquartered in Mumbai. LPG as a family food cooking fuel was presented by erstwhile Burmah Shell under the product name “Burshane” in mid 1955. Bharat Gas” from Bharat Petroleum has taken over the LP Gas industry in India for over three decades. It was indeed an excellent challenge for Bharatgas to replace Burshane as a brand name since “Burshane” had become a common name in the nation for LPG.
