Science mania- Pushpa Gujral Science City:
This place is a must visit for the ‘curious’ mind and people who place science above everything else. People who visit here are left awed and surprised with what this small city in itself has to offer. The Science City is fast becoming from primarily only being an educational center to a recreational tourist destination. Here one can indulge in adventure sports like Rock climbing or enjoy some quiet time boating. One can also learn about nano-technology, micro-machines, genomics and principles of levitation. Pushpa Gujral Science city is famously known as Science city. It is a joint venture by the state and the Union government. It was inaugurated in the year 2005 by the then Governor of Punjab, Lt. Gen (retired) S.F Rodrigues. It is located on the the Jalandhar-Kapurthala highway.
The Science City is also home to many attractions like 3D Cinema, a LASER show, an Earthquake simulator etc. It also offers various displays on Physics, Optical science, Aviation dynamics, Health etc.
Here, one can also watch Large format films based on the IMAX technology which are displayed on a screen that is 10 times the size of regular cinema theatre halls. This has made this Science city the entertainment capital.
