Mountaineering
Uttrakhand offers most challenging peaks such as Nanda Devi, Trisul, Dronagiri, kamet chaukambha, Nilkanth. Any mountaineer can test his skill through these highest peaks. The locals is very helpful for this tasks. For the coordination of the mountaineers, a central body is set up named Indian Mountaineering Foundation. It is the authority to provide permits for climbing peaks situated in New Delhi. Nehru Institute of Mountaineering imparts essential training of mountaineering.
Skiing
The high elevated areas are covered with snow and provide great opportunity for the Skiing lovers. Auli is the only ski resort. Other area for the skiing is Gorson. These twin pastures are situated at the altitude of 8500 ft to 13000 ft. There are many agencies who provide sking equipments and arrangements are situated at Joshimath and Rishikesh.
Rafting
If you want to experience the adventure of being in the furious waves of Ganges, Then rafting at Shivpuri is waiting for you. Shivpuri is the hub of water sports. Thousand of sports lover visit here to do rafting. It’s very spectacular to watch the adventure lovers piercing through the fast-moving water of Ganges.
