Wild Life Sanctuaries Uttrakhand

                                                                      
Whole Uttrakhand is spotted with many hill stations, shrines and wildlife sanctuaries.  Its very thrilling to discover Uttrakhand in these destinations.  Places like Rishikesh, Dehradun, Rudryaparyag are the religious place  while Massorie, Nainital and  Ranikhet  are the famous hill stations.  Apart from that there is greatest oppurtunities for the adventure sports.   The natural resources make it a  fabulous place for trekking, hiking and river rafting.

The Jim Corbett National Park
It is an ecstasy for the adventure seeker and wildlife adventure lovers. Corbett National Park is India's first national park which contain 520.8 km2. area of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grass lands and large lake. The elevation ranges from 1,300 feet to 4,000 feet. Winter nights in Corbett national park are cold but the days are bright and sunny. It rains from July to September. This is one of Oldest national parks of India named after the hunter Jim Corbett who played a vital role in its formation. It is situated in Nainital area.
   
 Binsar Sanctuary
  It is in Almora region. It is renowned for its beautiful and panoramic Himalayan view, This            sanctuary is rich in flora and fauna. This sanctuary  consist of Leopard, Chital, Black Beer, Langur etc and over 200 bird species  such as Forktail, Blackbirds, Nuthatches and Monalas well as many species of wild flowers such as Alpine flora, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes etc.

Askot Sanctuary
It is situated 54 km from Pithoragarh near Askot. Magnificent hilly areas, bordered by vegetation are tourist attractions. Snow Leopard, Jungle cat, Civet Cat, Barking Deer, Serow, Goral and Brown Bear and many birds are the inhabitants.

Govind Pashu Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary
It is situated in Uttarkashi with the area of 957 sq km. It is surrounded by many snow covered mountains like Swarg Rohini, Black Peak and Banderpoonch. The sanctuary provides a fascinating diversity of fauna including Himalayan Black Bears, Tahr, Serow, Chir, Musk Deer, Koklas, Chukor, snoe cock, steepe eagle and many more.

Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary
It is one of the main wildlife sanctuary with the attractions like Snow Leopard, Snow Cock, Tahr, Musk Deer and Serow. Chir pine, oak, birch, rhododendrons adds to its beauty.

The Rajaji National Park
It is spread over an area of 820.42 squre kilometres. It is a habitat of 23 species of mammals and 315 species of Birds which include maily Asian Elephants, Tiger and King Cobra, Panther, Bear, Chital, Sambar, Wild Boar, Kakar, Python, Monitor Lizard, Wild Cats.
